One of the very early dinosaurs, that have a mixture of characteristics pertaining to both theropods and sauropodomorphs. It is now generally considered to be a very primitive Sauropodomorph, related to Guaibasaurus. The name Saturnalia derived from the name of an ancient Roman festival honoring the God Saturn because the first remains were found during the Carnival festive season in Brazil.
