This animal is known from a single 28 cm long fragment of an unusually slender and elongated rostrum and via similarity was originally classified as an extinct member of the gharial family (Gavialidae). It is more certainly a thalattosuchian belonging to the teleosaurid family, a group of fully marine mesozoic reptiles related to crocodilians.
