Mansourasaurus shahinae Sallam et al., 2018
Systematics: Dinosauria Saurischia Sauropodomorpha Sauropoda Titanosauria Lithostrotia
Size: 10 m long (juvenile)
Type Horizon and Locality: Late Cretaceous, Quseir Formation (Campanian), Dakhla oasis, Egypt
Type Specimen: MUVP 200, disarticulated partial skeleton including partial skull of a juvenile individual
This titanosaur from Egypt was most closely related to Eurasian genera such as Ampelosaurus and Opisthocoelicauda, than those from South America and Africa, indicating that the African landmass during the Late Cretaceous was less isolated than previously thought.
