Type Horizon and Locality: Early Devonian, Wood Bay Series, Spitsbergen, Norway
Type Specimen : specimen nr 96, cephalic shield (Stensio, 1927)
Boreaspis was a small armored jawless fish with a long rostrum. Several species have been described from the Early Devonian of Spitsbergen. The cephalic shield of the type species, B. rostrata measured only 1.5 cm.
