Type Horizon and Locality: Lower Cambrian, Series 2, Stage 4, 'Fucoid' Beds, Scotland, UK
Type Specimen : GSE 472 (Lectotype) almost complete cephalon
This tiny trilobite with a hexagonal spiky cephalon is known from the Lower Cambrian of Scotland. The unusual shape has been explained as retention of juvenile traits in adults, a phenomenon called paedomorphosis, although this has been disputed.
